LEED Green Building Standards Expanding
With the present push for much more stringent, eco-friendly, building standard practices becoming supported by the federal government and abroad, the require for LEED training is now expanding globally. An agreement was signed between the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and China’s Green Constructing Council (CBGC) on April 6, 2010 that signifies the dawn of a new era between these two powerful green developing organizations. The agreement officially acknowledges that the two parties will start to collaborate together to promote the reduction of carbon emissions and support eco-friendly constructing practices worldwide.
The demand for LEED Accredited Experts in the building workforce is becoming even higher with the recent collaboration between these two parties. China’s Green Developing Council has only been in existence for two years, but in that time, they have worked rigorously to promote green creating practices worldwide, specifically due to the latest economic expansions and urbanization projects in China. As a expert in the creating business, becoming a LEED Accredited Professional is no longer a luxury given that the influence of the USGBC, or United States Green Creating Council, is gaining worldwide notoriety.

Over time a certified Green Creating can turn brown if it is not maintained effectively. A green creating is certified green as it incorporates a number of Green attributes. Such buildings normally guarantee reduction in operating costs on energy and water, besides a number of intangible rewards such as extending the life span of natural resources, supplying human comfort, safety and productivity. What’s happened to the term energy effective home? I read the best definition of an energy efficient residence by Dennis Crook. He’s built energy efficient homes since the Carter Administration in the 1980’s. His definition of an energy efficient residence follows:
“The energy-effective residence acts as a smooth-functioning machine in which the equipment produces as a lot, if not far more energy capacity than needed to operate the perfect human environment, including air quality, moisture conditions, temperature, and lighting. The perfect energy-efficient property retains the greatest environment for human habitation while minimizing the cost of energy.”
